Community Service: CHANGE PROJECT BY MISS OREVAOGHENE E. EBEBEINWE

CLIENT: UNITY PRIMARY SCHOOL, AWODI-ORA IN AJEROMI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

This is quite new to this site. Our environment, they say, is the nearest heaven besides heaven, so what we do with or to it matters a lot, for this reason, waizKode in collaboration with a humanitarian Non-Governmental Organisation (LEAP Africa) has decided to give back to its' community by helping the least, under-priviledged community get a better environment.

LEAP Africa (Leadership, Effectiveness,Accountability & Proffesionalism Africa) is a non-profitable organisation. Its' mission statement is to equip, inspire and empower a new cadre of african leaders through series of leadership and empowerment programmes.Read more

Miss Orevaoghene E. Ebebeinwe is one of such individuals that is going through such a programme and in an effort to give back what she has gained, she has taken up an individual task of renovating this school with, Consequently, we have decided to embark on a 6 months developmental and renovative project with her to help uplift the image of this abandoned public primary school in one of the so-called slums in Lagos state Nigeria; Ajegunle to be more specific. Why it has been tagged a 'slum' I know not but our major concern is bringing back this school to its' glory days. See some photos below and know the degree of decadent we are talking about here.

It is not such a surprise seeing this kind of schools spewn all across the state, To worsen the situation, the headmistress' office was in a greater mess.Click here to see photo.

In all this, neither is Miss Orevaoghene, waizKode nor Leap africa interested in the recognition that might arise as a result of this task but our goal and most importantly is to provide a better and conducive atmosphere to usher our little kids into the life of academia, Imagine kids studying in these classes come the next rainy season - 'Absurd'

We hereby enjoin all well meaning individuals or organisations willing to support projects like this to please contact the above named person Orevaoghene E. : +234-805-131-4440 or Michael N: +234-807-776-8096 or Leap Africa for further information or contact. The renovation works commences as from the 4th of June 2007 but already we have started
